After winning a pair of events last week, Satta-Ellis managed to edge out Kamehameha’s Kahiau Poe in both the 100 and long jump en route to winning four individual events on his home track: the 100 in 11.62 seconds, the 200 in 23.87, long jump with a leap of 20’11.75” and triple jump in a distance of 40’6”. The Konawaena junior also anchored Konawaena’s winning 4×100 relay team (45.81).
For the girls, Hanks improved on her times from a week ago as she notched a pair of individual victories in the 100 (13.11 seconds) and 200 (26.40) and anchored the Wildcats’ winning 4×100 (52.12) and 4×400 (4:28.91) relays.
Saturday afternoon saw four more athletes win multiple events, starting with Konawaena’s Malakai Fillmore taking the boys’ 110 hurdles (17.67) and 300 hurdles (43.29). Distance events were dominated by East Hawaii schools; Waiakea’s Kederang Ueda claimed victory in both the boys’ 1,500 (4:23.48) and 3,000 (9:51.31), while Hilo’s Hulali Halpern took the girls’ 800 (2:34.81) and 1,500 (5:27.95).
