Bonifacio “Pacio” Corpuz, 73, of Pahala died March 4 at home. Born in the Philippines, he was a nut harvester and irrigation pump operator for the former ML Macadamia Nut Orchard and carpenter. Isaiah Kala “Ikepono” Ka‘aihue Jr., 72, of Honolulu died Dec. 6 at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Waiohinu, Ka‘u, he was a retired outreach worker for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, master lei maker, Merrie Monarch volunteer festival, 1967 Hilo High School graduate and U.S. Army veteran.
