UPDATE: One lane on Daniel K. Inouye Highway open after crash
UPDATED: A single lane on Daniel K. Inouye Highway is now open to traffic. Drivers should still expect delays.
ORIGINAL: Daniel K. Inouye Highway is closed to traffic for the next two hours after a collision.
According to the Hawaii Police Department, a vehicle crash near the 17-mile marker on the Hilo side of the highway has necessitated the closure of the road while the scene is cleared. Drivers are advised to use Hawaii Belt Road as an alternative route.
