The DOH updates its COVID case reports each Wednesday.
The statewide daily average of new cases rose by two this week, bringing the new daily average to 164 cases per day.
For Hawaii County, the daily average was also up by two, for an average of 22 new cases per day.
The Department of Education reported 206 new COVID cases at DOE facilities between April 3 and April 12.
On the Big Island, most reported cases were at Konawaena Elementary School, which had nine cases. At Keaau High School, six cases of COVID-19 were reported by the DOE.
In addition, two new deaths were reported over that last week, including a male between the ages of 70-79 with an underlying condition on Maui, and a female over the age of 80 on Oahu.
Over the last two-week period, there have been 2,273 new cases across the state.
As of April 12, 77.1% of the state’s total population has been vaccinated, as well as 68% of the Big Island’s total population. Of those eligible for a booster or third dose, 55% have completed their additional inoculations.
