Waiakea High School DECA students excelled at the 2022 Virtual Hawaii State DECA Career Development Conference that took place from Feb. 21-25.

Distributive Education Clubs of America conferences are targeted, highly focused learning experiences for students in the field of business. These conferences bring student members into the business industry while providing unique opportunities to extend classroom learning. The conference also connects students with professionals engaging them in learning industry-related trends and content.

Waiakea High School DECA students competed in various competency and performance-based events and exams in business services, marketing, entrepreneurship, human resource management, marketing communications and retail merchandising.

The following students received awards: Anndrea Leung, Human Resource Management, finalist medal, second place written exam, overall second place trophy; and Noah Siegel-Stone, finalist medal, overall second place trophy.
