The Wailoa Center May exhibit is the 10x10x10 Artist Challenge 2022, sponsored by Wailoa Center and the Hawaii Island Art Alliance. This exhibit will be on display from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., May 9-26, Monday through Friday. There will be an opportunity to meet the artists from 1-6 p.m. Saturday.
The public is invited to view 10 artists who have been challenged to use 10 specific materials and turn them into an art installation in one of the 10 alcove spaces in Wailoa’s main upstairs gallery. Artists will experience many successes and learning opportunities throughout the process.
The artists showing are Rebecca Bryant, Craig Allen Lawver, Sandy Lee, L. Peat O’Neil, Marie McClintock, Marcia Timboy, Robin Worley, Lars Worley and two young artists, Hawelelani Camara and Ahina Enos, who are 11 and 12 years old, respectively.
Along with the Main Gallery artists, the 10x10x10 alumni artists from previous year’s challenges have been invited to submit smaller “installations” using the same materials.
