The No. 41 UH-Hilo men’s tennis team fell to No. 4 Hawaii Pacific 4-1 on Monday at the NCAA Division II West Regionals at Oahu’s Kailua Racquet Club.
In No. 2 singles, Alessio Demichelis was the only UHH winner. He defeated Jan Pleva, 6-1, 6-3.
In No. 1 singles, No. 2 Jordi Walder def. No. 5 Martin Soukal, 6-4, 5-3.
In No. 3 singles, Robin Sanz def. Luca Checchia, 6-2, 6-1.
In No. 4 singles, Jakub Beran def. Luca Matheiowetz, 6-3, 6-1.
In No. 5 singles, Ben Loccisano def. Agustin Gentile, 6-2, 6-2.
In No. 6 singles, Ryo Arai def. Josh Liu, 6-3, 2-1.
In No. 1 doubles, Beran/Sanz didn’t finish against Soukal/Luke Hamano.
In No. 2 doubles, Walker/Jan Heine def. Liu/Checchia, 6-3.
In No. 3 doubles, Pleva/Loccisano def. Demichelis/Matheiowetz, 6-1.
The Sharks improved to 17-2. The Vulcans finished 9-10.
