A man’s body found in Kona on Tuesday has been determined the victim of a murder, police report.
According to a Hawaii Police Department news release, the dead body of a 63-year-old Kailua-Kona resident was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Palani Road and Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway in Kailua-Kona.
An autopsy on the body was conducted Friday which determined that the manner of death was homicide, and the ongoing investigation was reclassified to second-degree murder.
The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
