Born in Honolulu, he was a retired City and County of Honolulu heavy construction mason foreman, member of United Public Workers, Alu Like Kona Kupuna club, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Big Island Deaf Club and represented the USA at the 1969 and 1973 World Games for Deaf Olympics Men’s Volleyball.
