William “Bill” Derasin, 88, of Naalehu died June 8 at home. Born in Pahoa, he was a welding professor at University of Hawaii at Hilo and retired owner of 3D Welding and B&E Propane. Charles Edward Hacker, Sr., 86 of Pahoa, formerly of Cookstown, N.J., died June 29 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Fayette County, W.Va., he was a retired manager for P.A.D.E.
