Shizue “Sue” Miura, 101, of Pahoa died July 29 at home. Born in Hilo, she was the retired owner of the former S. Miura Store in Pahoa and was a retired counter person at K’s Drive In in Hilo. Survived by son, Sidney Miura of Pahoa; daughters, Leatrice (Gerald) Santo of Richland, Wash., and Gladys Miura of Pahoa; brother, Suemori Shimasaki of Virginia; daughter-in-law, June Miura of Pahoa; sisters-in-law, Setsuko Shimasaki and Sachiko Shimasaki of Hilo, Lynn Shimasaki of California and Harue Shimasaki of Hilo; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Benjamin Saldua, 70, of Honokaa died May 5 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honokaa, he was chief interpreter at Pu‘ukohola Heiau National Historic Site and had worked at six National Park Service units. Visitation 930-11 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 27) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Hawaiian Blessing at 11:00 am, Eulogy at 11:15 a.m. Mass at noon. Burial 1 p.m. at the church cemetery. Reception at 2 p.m. at Honokaa Hongwanji Hall. Aloha entire.
