At about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, police received information from a county bus driver concerning a juvenile who was removed from a bus in Pahoa after creating a disturbance.
According to police, the same juvenile made a statement regarding bringing a gun to school, prompting an immediate report to police about the statement.
The boy was arrested at 8 a.m. Thursday and charged him with second-degree terroristic threatening, a misdemeanor.
The juvenile was released to his parents
and the investigation is being referred to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and the Family Court.
According to police, there have been 28
reported school-related shootings nationwide resulting in injury or death in 2022 and the law enforcement take such threats seriously.
