‘Make the change’

Thank you, Denise Yamamoto, for your Oct. 19 letter, “Excessive wokeness” (Your Views, Tribune-Herald). I’m in agreement!

Hawaii residents: Get to the polls on Nov. 8 to make the change we need against the woke, socialist and downright evil administration currently occupying D.C.

America shall be saved. God bless you, Denise, and God bless America!

We will survive

Sept. 28 was “Climate Change Day” for the letters to the editor section (Your Views, Tribune-Herald).

The first letter talked about the Thwaites and Pine Island glaciers, along with a hysterical, hair-on-fire claim of 11-foot sea level rise. The second letter mentions, in the very same sentence, water scarcity and flooding.

First letter: National Science Foundation, News Release 18-044, talks about a previously unknown volcano under the glaciers that are accounting for the melting glacier, not Uncle Ernie’s barbecue smoke. If the Thwaites glacier drops off, it will not be due to Uncle Ernie’s smoked brisket.

Climate is a very complex system. That is why there is such difficulty predicting events one week from now, let alone 60 years from now. U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says we all have only 12 years left, never suggesting what we are going to do about it. Her prediction will be wrong, just like every other prediction before hers, a 100% losing record.

Remember, you are listening to people that want to scare you into giving them money and have dire predictions of sea level rise, temperature rise and tipping points, all of which have not followed any of their predictions.

If their science was sound, they would show you the evidence and defend that evidence through debate. Instead, they call you a science denier, just like the people who said the Earth is not flat. They, too, were called science deniers.

Sea level rise can be caused by melting ice, sinking land masses or plate tectonics, but if you are hustling money for climate change, then you take the money path.

The second letter talks about “climate change is real.” Yeah, it’s called the four seasons. Food and water scarcities, plus flooding? California is in a drought, Pakistan is under water, a warmer global temperature will extend growing regions — how does that create food scarcity?

From the time you were able to read, you probably heard about droughts and floods all over the world. That’s climate change, and it occurs naturally.

There have been all kinds of scams: the coming ice age, ozone hole will kill us all, population explosions, cow farts, etc. — they’ll kill us. Yet, we are still here

If you are going to attribute any little or big event to climate change, at least provide evidence other than a New York Times article.

The hucksters want your money and will say anything to get it. People scare easily, and the politicians know it. Climate change is the latest wealth redistribution scam. Don’t fall for it.

Humans are adaptable, and we will adapt. We don’t need to spend trillions of dollars to reduce the global temperature by .0004 degrees Fahrenheit when that money could be used for other things than lining the pockets of political donors.

Climate change is occurring, but it’s not as bad as the hucksters claim. We’ll adapt and survive.
