Kamehameha Schools volleyball team represented Big Island Division I schools and made it to the final round of the HHSA Girls Volleyball Championship last Friday.
KS-Hawaii defeated Punahou 3-0 in the quarter finals with scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 27-25.
The Warriors then won against Kahuku in the semifinals 3-2 with scores of 24-26, 14-25, 25-23, 25-5 and 15-11.
The Warriors faced Iolani in the final round, but was defeated in three games with scores of 18-25, 17-25 and 22-25.
Konawaena placed fifth in the Division II Girls Volleyball Championship after winning against Hawaii Preparatory, who then placed sixth.
Nikolas Galbones of Hilo won the HHSA Air Rifle Individual Boys Championship with 547 points.
The KS-Hawaii girls and boys air rifle teams placed second and third place, respectively, in the state competition.
Halpern Kekaihulal, sophomore at Hilo High, placed third in the HHSA Cross Country Individual Girls race with 19:29.29. The Hilo girls team placed eighth.
Levi Childers, senior at Kealakehe, placed third in the Individual Boys race with 16:46.12. Shane Tominaga, freshman at Waiakea, placed fifth in the state race.
The Kealakehe Cross Country Boys Team won the bronze in the team race.
