Brenda Jo Ioane, 65, of Hilo died Oct. 3 at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a senior branch office administrator at the Edward Jones office in Hilo, formerly was an escrow officer at the Island Title Company and proprietor of Roselani Party Supply. Joy B. Pruitt (née Joy Pruitt-Joseph), 77, of Hilo died Dec. 5. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a speech pathologist at Hilo Medical Center, Head Start, Easter Seals, the state Department of Education, Hawaii Care Choices — where she was on the Board of Directors — nd in private practice. She also was an active member of state and national speech and hearing associations, as well as several local health related clubs. Graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 10) at Homelani Memorial Park. Celebration of life to follow at the family home. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
