James Nobuichi Hanano, 93, of Kapaau died Dec. 26 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kohala, he retired from Hawaii Preparatory Academy, worked for the former Kohala Sugar and was a Boy Scouts of America scoutmaster, Hawaii National Guard veteran and member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church.
