‘Harbinger of fear’
“Hey, Al! Did you hear?! They are going to impeach Trump! Told you he was bad news!”
This was said to me years ago by a guy who “knew” Donald Trump was a racist and a corrupt evil man. But he does not “know” much about Joe Biden’s past or current racism or corruption.
The many mainstream media outlets, which have truly become leftist propaganda over the decades, are somehow the harbingers and end-game arbiters of patriotism and democracy now (in the minds of leftists).
Are political cartoons cheaper to print if they have a running anti-Trump theme? Curious. The political cartoonist the Tribune-Herald uses sure believes in propaganda. Pictures tell stories quickly, versus having to actually look deeper into subjects and topics. Just draw grotesque Trump supporters! Make them look low-IQ!
Lord knows, me and my fellow conservatives need a good punch in the arm, so to speak. Right?
My gripe is not with this outstanding paper’s grasp of common sense and civil decency. My gripe is with those who accept propaganda and downright bigoted hatred toward conservatives and the Republican Party and then walk around like it is truth.
FOX news, while focused on right wing stuff, is daily competing with ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, Facebook and TikTok (Chinese propaganda at its finest) for the hearts and minds of America.
Am I brainwashed? Yes! I am brainwashed into thinking my life was better before the media became the harbinger of fear and hate. I am brainwashed into thinking these are going to be the days that people look back and say, “The good old days weren’t always good. Tomorrow’s not as bad as it seems.” (Apologies) to Billy Joel’s “Keeping the Faith.”)
Not even sure we are allowed to sing songs containing words like faith any more. It might offend some huge soul out there who knows better than us mere troglodytes and has made all the correct moves in life.

Tinted windows
Hawaii’s law makers are considering allowing darker tinted windows upon vehicles. Not a good idea.
Although darker tints allow for more privacy within a vehicle, as well as minimizing the sun’s rays, darker tints do have major drawbacks. For one, Hawaii Island street lights are much lower in intensity because of the night light pollution affecting the telescopes atop Maunakea. Because of this, it would make it harder for drivers with dark tints to see at night, especially when it is raining.
Also, too many evening bicycle riders, as well as those walking in the dark while wearing dark clothing, would increase the danger of operating vehicles with dark tints.
Another hazard with dark-tinted windows are law enforcement officers investigating suspicious vehicles, especially in many of Hawaii Island’s remote areas, not knowing how many persons may be within the vehicle. Shining flashlights through dark tints does not light up the interior well.
For those of you currently with moderate tints or no tints and are considering darker tints, trying driving at night wearing sunglasses. Then you will know if darker tints are worth your safety and the safety of others.
