UPDATE 1:49 p.m.: Police say 77-year-old Serena Nishihara has been found in good health.

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding an elderly missing woman they describe as “at risk.”

Serena Nishihara is described as 77 years old, of Asian descent, 5-feet-1-inch tall, with black eyes and brown hair. She was last seen at 5:30 a.m. today at Ua Nahale Street in Hilo.

According to police, Nishihara drives a 2008 Hyundai van with Hawaii license plate number LAC306.

She’s listed as a science teacher on Hilo High School’s staff directory.

Police ask that anyone with information that can assist in helping to safely locate Nishihara to call 911 or the police nonemergency number at (808) 935-3311.
