A fire Sunday afternoon damaged the Hawaiian Acres Community Center.
According to a Hawaii Fire Department statement, seven units with 10 firefighters answered the 2:02 p.m. call with the first unit on scene at 2:15 p.m.
Arriving firefighters found no one at the 20-foot-by-50-foot wooden structure with iron roof. Flames were venting from one window and smoke venting from multiple windows.
The fire was reported under control at 2:19 p.m. and extinguished at 2:27 p.m.
According to the statement, major fire damage occurred mainly in the office area with smoke and heat damage throughout the structure.
There was no damage estimate given and the cause of the fire is, as yet, undetermined.
