James “Jamie” Elliott Bartlett, 72, of Paukaa died Dec. 7 at home. Born in Long Beach, Calif., he owned J.B. Gutter and Roofing Services and was a surfer, fisherman, mechanic and golfer. Private burial of his cremated remains at a later date at Alae Cemetery. Survived by brothers, Jonathan S. Bartlett of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Jeffrey R. Clifford Wayne Freitas, 71, of Honolulu died Nov. 10. He was born in Ka‘u. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Jean Matsue Hatada, 95, of Hilo died Feb. 5 at a private care home. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired land agent for the former Hawaii Electric Light Co., worked at Security Title, former real estate broker and member of New Hope-Hilo. Private services held.
