The Pacific West Conference Championships are over a week away as the top six men’s and women’s teams prepare to ascend to Chaminade University in Oahu to battle for the title.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo men’s basketball team will be one of six teams vying to raise the PacWest Championship trophy.

Tickets for the tournament are now on sale with options to buy single-day passes or discounted prices for the three-day event.

The championship will be at Honolulu’s McCabe Gymnasium from Thursday, March 2 to Saturday, March 4.

For men’s basketball, Point Loma holds the No. 1 seed followed by Azusa Pacific, UH-Hilo, Academy of Art, Biola and Chaminade.

The Vulcans can still earn the No. 2 seed but will need to end the season with wins over Biola and Point Loma. Azusa Pacific will also need to lose to Chaminade. At worst, Hilo will finish seeded fourth.

On the women’s side, Azusa Pacific has the No. 1 seed locked up along with the first-round bye that comes with it. In contention for the No. 2 seed is Dominican, Concordia University Irvine and HPU. Rounding out the women’s six-team field is Point Loma and Biola.

The championships will follow this schedule at McCabe Gymnasium at Chaminade University of Honolulu.
