Maria Lourdes Castinaries Vocal Batulanon, 91, of Ookala died Feb. 4, 2022, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Ookala, she was a retired cashier for the former Nakahara Store and volunteered for the Ookala Community. Celebration of fife 11 a.m. Saturday (Mar. 18) at Laupahoehoe Point Gym. Betsy Ann Ludwig, 87, of Hilo died Feb. 24 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired secretary for The ARC of Hilo and Special People Hawaii, and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph High School Class of 1953. Private services held. Roy Takeshi Tanoue, 83, of Arcadia, Calif., died Dec. 24 at home, Born in Hilo, he was a Hawaii on April 5, 1939. He was a retired as salesman at Bewley Allen Cadillac in Alhambra, Calif., was formerly employed by the former Hilo Motors and I. Kitagawa and Co., was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of Lincoln Wreckers Athletic Club and Hilo Jaycees.
