The 25th annual Tropical Paws benefit gala returns Saturday at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kona.
The event is to raise much-needed funds for shelter animals at the Hawaii Island Humane Society.

Raise your paddle and support the Hawaii Island Humane Society in its mission to prevent cruelty to animals, eliminate pet overpopulation and enhance the bond between humans and animals.
The evening features cocktails, dinner, auction and adorable pets.
“We need the community’s help, now more than ever, (and) much-needed proceeds from Tropical Paws will greatly help us offset shelter operation costs at our two lifesaving locations in Keaau and in Kona,” said Hawaii Island Humane Society CEO Lauren Nickerson.
“We save the lives of over 97% of the dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs that come through our doors,” she said. “Your support will help us give the gift of new beginnings by providing veterinary care, behavior support, enrichment, nutrition, adoption counseling transport, fostering and so much more. With your support, we are able to invest in their needs so that they can find the kind of love, comfort and joy that they deserve. With your support, we can do even more.”
Tropical Paws gets underway at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception and continues with a gourmet dinner and a silent and live auction.
