The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation has announced Easter egg hunt events this Friday.
The events will occur at Francis Wong Stadium and Pa‘auilo Gym. Both events are free and open to the public.
The “Biggest Easter Egg Hunt” will be held in Hilo at the stadium. Gates open at 8 a.m., with many family activities, and the egg hunt begins at 10 a.m.
Egg-hunters will be divided into age groups (ages 4-5, ages 6-8, ages 9-12), and keiki will search for more than 17,000 eggs, each containing a special prize.
The event is made possible by partnerships with the Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii, Hilo High School Key Club and Waiakea High School Key Club.

The Pa‘auilo Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Pa‘auilo Gym. Gates open at 9 a.m., and the egg hunt begins at 9:30 a.m.
Egg-hunters will be divided into age groups (ages 2-4, ages 5-8, ages 9-12) to search for eggs, each having a special prize inside.
