Ignacio “Rusty” Eclipse, 89, of Hilo died April 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kukaiau, he was a retired tour bus driver for the former Arquero’s U-Drive Taxi and Tours, Laupahoehoe Transit and Jacks Tours, and member of Kilauea Hawaii Pidgin Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Survived by daughters, Sherelyn (Oly) Eclipse-Ujano of Hilo and Terry-Lee Shigemi of Mountain View; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and hanai family. Ivan Vernie Faxon Jr., 78, of Keaau died Nov. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired executive director and therapist with Faith Against Drugs and U.S. Air Force veteran. Amy Naomi Texeira, 60, of Keaau died April 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Pedro “Pete” Velasco Jr., 85, of Pahoa died March 21. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired public school teacher and a member of the U.S. Olympic volleyball team in 1964 and 1968, a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame and was inducted into the U.S. Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
