Randy Jon Crowell, 70, of Holualoa died April 22 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Tacoma, Wash., He was a manager for Certified Pest Control, also managed Hawaii Island Humane Society in Kona and was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Private services. Survived by wife, Deborah Crowell of Holualoa; sons, Jon Crowell of Hawaii Island and Jacob Crowell of Holualoa; daughter, Samantha (Jacob) Hampton of Holualoa; brother, Gerry (Dianne) Crowell of Arizona; three grandchildren. Christopher M. “DeMo” DeMorales, 49, of Hilo died May 7. Born in Honolulu, he was a motorcycle rider, loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Steve Hiroshi Fukunaga, 62, of Hilo died May 28 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was a life insurance agent and investment/financial advisor, member of New Hope East Hawaii Church, Rotary Club of South Hilo, Chamber of Commerce, Aloha Exchange Club, and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, basketball and baseball coach and U.S. Air Force veteran. Richard “Ric” Neff Maiava, 75, of Hilo died May 22 at home. Born in Haar, Germany, he was general manager of Ken’s House of Pancakes and owner of Pond’s Hilo. Celebration of life pending. Sachie Ozaki Ohata, 89, of Waimea died May 2 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Wailuku, Maui, she was a retired teacher with a master’s degree in education from Columbia University, graduate of Baldwin High School and Knox College, member of Church of the Holy Cross and volunteer flower lady at Lyman Museum and North Hawaii Community Hospital. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at Church of the Holy Cross, 440 W. Lanikaula St. in Hilo. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Asako Egusa Tanaka, 90, of Hilo died April 16 at a care home in Hilo. Born in Papaaloa, she was a retired secretary for the University of Hawaii at Hilo and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
