Born in Pepeekeo, she was a professional waitress at the Mauna Kea Beach, Hapuna Beach Prince and former Naniloa, hotels, and a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Uunion and Fil-Am Women’s Softball League. Celebration of life gathering at a later date. Survived by sons, Martin (Lynette) Ellazar of Kailua-Kona, Robert (Debbie) Ellazar of Makapala, Shannon (Emely) Aiona of Kauai and Jessie Aiona of Kapaau; brother, Jose (Maria) Salinas of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Julita (Rudy) Silan of San Diego, Rita Daniel of Wyoming and Gloria Grider of Hilo; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Kona man guilty of 2021 homicide

A Kona man was found guilty Tuesday of second-degree murder and first-degree arson in connection with the May 2021 shooting death of Joey Richmond, 46, of Kailua-Kona, at the end of Keauhou-Kainaliu Beach Road, known locally as “End of the World,” in Keauhou.
