Raymond “RD” Kaluhimoku Sr., 70, of Waimea died May 28 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a security supervisor for Hawaii Protective Association, pastor for His Highest Praise Church in Waimea, member of Waimea Door of Faith Church, Hawaii Army National Guard veteran and Waimea Community Association basketball and Little League Baseball coach. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (July 1) at Waimea Door of Faith Church, 65-1343 Kawaihae Road in Waimea. Celebration of life 10 a.m.-noon. Casual attire. Virginia Renstina Welsh, 88, of Hilo died Nov. 4, 2022, at Hospice House in Bend, Ore. Born in Nebraska, she was a retired bookkeeper, homemaker and member of Ascension and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Decatur, Texas. Urn committal service noon Wednesday, July 5, at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Memorial donations to Hawaii Care Choices-Hospice of Hilo.
