Barbara Hess Darling, 88, of Keaau died June 24 in Hilo. Born in Kingston, Pa., she graduated from Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pa., worked in the banking industry and was a licensed practical nurse, member of Hilo United Methodist Church, Ham Radio Operator call sign AH7G and, with her late husband Richard, were recipients of the 2016 Amateur Radio Relay League International Humanitarian Award for their communication with the Federated States of Micronesia.
