Firefighters continue to battle Ka‘u brush fire

Hawaii Fire Department personnel continue today to fight a brush fire that started yesterday near Kamaoa Road in Ka‘u.

The fire is reported to have consumed 42 acres and caused some damage to structures and vehicles in the area.

All roads are open at this time, but motorists in the area are advised to drive with caution as fire crews and equipment remain on scene addressing hotspots.
