Dennis Franklin Elwell,Ph.D, 87, of Discovery Harbour died May 29 at home. Born in England, he was a retired researcher and professor at Portsmouth and Stanford universities, Hughes Aircraft and Magnum Defense, consultant for NASA and European Space Agency, author of science-based books and Ka’u history and was invited to nominate candidates for the Nobel Prize in physics.
