Joanne “Jojo” (Samson) De Leon, 68, of Papaikou died June 28. Born in Honolulu, she was a housekeeper, including at the former Kona Bay Resort, a devout Christian and member of New Hope-Hilo Church. Pedro Enitan, 92, of Pahala died Aug. 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hawaii, he was a retired truck driver for a macadamia nut processing company and U.S. Army veteran. Hitoshi “Uncle Paul” Kinoshita, 104, of Hilo died July 5 at home. Born in Honomu, he was retired from the former Hilo Coast Processing Co./Pepeekeo Sugar Co. and member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Urn committal service to follow at Homelani Memorial Park Columbarium-Japanese Garden. Casual attire. Kathleen Ann McConnell, 70, of Pahoa died July 28 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker and co-owner of a flower nursery. Private services. Bradford “Brad” Hinano Moses, 69, of Pahala died July 2 at home. Born in Hilo, he worked for former transportation mogul Slim Holt, Budget Rent a Car and Avis Car Rental. retiring in 2020, and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala.
