Ka‘u High School Alumni and Friends are meeting for its 20th Potluck Reunion on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Pahala Community Center.

There will be music by Calvin Ponce and a hula performance by the halau led by Debbie Ryder. Guests are asked to bring their favorite dishes to share. Free bottled water will be provided.

A short program welcoming guests by Joseph Tateyama (class of 1958) will start at 11:45 a.m.

Ka‘u High &Pahala Elementary Principal Sharon Beck, recent recipient of a state leadership award for principals, will be honored. James Yamaki (class of 1958), one of the chief organizers of the reunion, will give a thank-you message.

The food line starts about noon. All are welcome to enjoy live music, good food and great company.

This will be the last reunion to be sponsored by this committee, which is looking for someone to spearhead next year’s reunion.
