Bernard “Bernie” Geiger, 85, of Hilo died Aug. 11. Born in Braddock, Pa., he worked for an engineering firm, was a volunteer sheriff in Colorado, a deep-water yachtsman, marksman, trumpeter, drum and bugle corpsman, history buff and graduate of Pitcairn High School. James Ishiki, 89, of Kukuihaele died July 15 at home. Born in Hakalau, he was an electrical contractor and owner of the former Ishiki Electric, supervisor and seed cutter at the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of Kalopa Hawaii Pidgin Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
