Kimberly Angel, 52, of Keaau, died Aug. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a convenience store cashier on the Big Island of Hawaii. Celebration of life to be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Keaau Senior Center. Survived by husband Alton Angel; children Bradley (Jas) Tsugawa, Joshua (Janelle) Angel, Justin (Leona) Angel, Ashley Angel and Crystel (Shayne) Angel-Sarme; parents Calvin and Donna Tsugawa; grandchildren Stetson, Jaden, Tristan, Aubree, Kahoalii, Tracen, Nalani and Riley; sibling Jerome (Tash) Tsugawa; and in-laws Max and Theresa Cabulizan, and Maxine and Larry Cabral. Juan Garcia, 75, died Aug. 17. Born in Texas, he was a Vietnam War veteran and a Bronze Star recipient. Military honors ceremony to be held at noon Sept. 15 at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Survived by sister Rosa Sauer and brother Daniel Garcia. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Drake Thomas Terlep, 55, of Keaau, died Aug. 18. Private services held. Survived by sons Thomas, Justin and Devin Terlep, all of California; father Thomas Terlep; mother Norma Panela of San Jose; brothers Jason and Noland Terlep, both of San Jose. Arrangements by Homelani Cremation Services.

Karen Yayoe Yamaoka, 79, of Honolulu, died July 19 at Queens Medical Center. Born in Honokaa, she was the owner of Karen’s Kitchen in Kakaako on Oahu. Service to be held at noon Sept. 10 at the Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu. Survived by daughters Lori (Michael) Eller and Keri (Donovan) Hauser; grandchildren Tiani Ho, Ashley and Alex Eller, and Tyler and Karlie Hauser; sisters Kumiko Nakashima, Kathleen New, Amy Aoyagi and Corliss Hirae; brother Oran (Corliss) Murakane; stepsons Leighton, Norman, Marshall and Bert Yamaoka; and many nieces and nephews. Jaylene Jacinto Pagtama, 32, of Keaau, died Aug. 9 at Staub Hospital in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a teacher at Keaau High School and a student clerk at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Celebration of life to be held Sept. 15 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, with a service at 7 p.m. and visitation from 4-9 p.m. Final visitation to be held at the same location the next day at 9 a.m., with a burial at Homeland Memorial Park. Survived by partner Kris Malson of Keaau; parents Nestor and Joegy Pagtama of Keaau; hanai mother Marlene Vintero of Hilo; sister Janes (Sheldon) Onouye of Oregon; brother Nick Pagtama of Nevada; nephew and niece Jaydin and Brooke Onouye and numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, nephews and nieces.
