Rosita Avenue, 89, of Pahala, died Aug. 4. Born in Wailua, she was a retired Department of Education teacher. Services to be held Sept. 16 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with visitation at 9 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. Survived by sons Clayton “Sonny” (Debi) Avenue, Mel (Kathleen) Avenue; daughters Teresita Akana and Nora Avenue; brother Frank (Christa) Baliling; sons-in-law Wayne Borden and Robert “Bobby” See; sister-in-law Roberta Gacutan; and 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Ronald Yukio Nishimura, 76, of Hilo, died Aug. 7 at Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he worked for the Hilo Medical Center Laboratory Department. Private services held. Alice H. Yoshiyama, 86, of Papaikou, died Aug. 21 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born on Molokai, she was the proprietress of the former S. Yoshiyama Store in Papaikou. Zarmain “Zee” Rabago-Iwabuchi, 57, of Hilo, died Aug. 6 at home.
