4 Hawaii Island women progress in pageant competition

On Aug. 19, 13 Hawaii Island women competed for the in the Hawaii Island USA preliminary pageant in Kailua-Kona.

Honokaa’s Hemi Martinez earned the title of Miss Hawaii Island Teen USA, and Zoe Sanatana of Waimea earned the title of Miss Orchid Isle Teen USA.

The Miss Hawaii Island USA title went to Kona’s Leimakamae Freitas, and Jessica Ward-Ellis of Kawaihae received the title of Miss Orchid Isle.

These four young women will represent Hawaii Island at the Miss Hawaii Teen USA and Miss Hawaii USA pageant in February 2024.
