Join artist Mary Milelzcik for a papermaking workshop from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 16) at Volcano Art Center Niaulani Campus in Volcano.
This workshop will introduce participants to papermaking using recycled papers with local plant materials, dyes, and earth pigments, using a household blender. Participants are encouraged to bring flowers and other dried plant materials to add to the pulp for coloring or to embed in their paper.
Participants will leave with a basic knowledge of papermaking, a variety of papers, pulp sources, and instructions on how to make paper at home.
Both newcomers and advanced learners are welcome.
The cost of the workshop is $70 or $65 for VAC members, plus $45 for supplies.
