Keawe Street in downtown Hilo will be closed from Waianuenue Avenue to Haili Street tonight.

Sidewalk and driveway repairs began last night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., which closed the roadway and sidewalks.

The Hawaii County Public Works Department said the road will reopen normally at night beginning Friday.

No parking will be allowed on Keawe Street during from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists are asked to use the detour along Kamehameha Avenue and Kino‘ole Street during this time.
