Alexander John Kema Apo, 92, of Hilo died Sept. 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Milolii, he was a self-employed professional beach boy in Waikiki, flower farmer, graduate of Kamehameha Schools and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Randall James Foster, 74, of Naalehu died Sept. 13 at home. Born in Minneapolis, he was a Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controller, elections cartographer for the Kansas Secretary of State, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and member of Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. Gwendolyn Harriett (Akana) Matsui, 91, of Waimea died Sept. 12 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a mother of six. Stanley Robert Mc Kee Jr., 73, of Honokaa, formerly of Milolii, died Aug. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a handyman, U.S. Armed Forces veteran, member of Koa Puna Motorcycle Club and the CB Radio Club, with the local handle Aloja 411 and mainland handle 17 Alfa Tango 411. Mary Caravalho Moniz, 90, of Kapaau died Sept. 7 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Holualoa, she was a retired dining room supervisor for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Kohala Puerto Rican Social Club.
