The Hawaii County Public Works Department and contractor Island Construction and Demolition have started a drainage improvement project on Lanikaula Street this week that will continue until November.
The Hawaii County Public Works Department and contractor Island Construction and Demolition have started a drainage improvement project on Lanikaula Street this week that will continue until November.
During the project, there will be one-lane closures between ‘Iolani Street and Kilauea Avenue on Lanikaula from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p..m., Monday through Friday.
Officers will be present, and traffic-control signs and barricades will be placed on the roadside.
The work is set to be completed by Thursday, Nov. 9.
According to Public Works, the cost of this project is $444,763 and is the only drainage improvement work currently planned for Lanikaula Street at this time.
There are other upcoming islandwide drainage improvement projects currently in the design phases, according to Public Works.
