The League of Women Voters of Hawaii County members on Sept. 14 participated in the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Constitution Day at the invitation of Su-Mi Lee, associate professor and chair of the Department of Political Science.
LWV members Kit Afable, Carolyn Murray and Marva Furmidge met students, faculty and staff and distributed voter registration applications and LWV membership applications. This was the second year the League has joined the UH-Hilo Political Science Department to observe Constitution Day.
The League of Women Voters of Hawaii County meets and hosts public speakers quarterly.
Meetings are open to the public.
The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building G, 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway in Kailua-Kona.

The guest speaker will be County Councilman Holeka Inaba, who represents District 8. The public is welcomed to attend.
