Konawaena, Kealakehe, Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i and Ka‘u competed Saturday morning at Kona Bowl in the Central Pacific Bank/Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Individual Championships, officially ending the season on the Big Island. Kealakehe’s Mercado Makaio was the pack’s top finisher with an average score of 157.3. The qualifying players for the HHSAA State Bowling Championships punched their tickets to Oahu on Sept. 30 at the end of regular season play. (Conor Langs/West Hawaii Today)
