Waimea-born Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i 2022 graduate Jonah Reich recently announced his commitment to join the Kansas State baseball team.

Reich spent his first season of college baseball at Eastern Arizona College — in Thatcher, Arizona, roughly 100 miles northeast of Tucson — where he pitched in nine games for the Gila Monsters, spending 19.1 innings on the mound and ending the 2022-23 season with a 2-1 record.

During his senior year at Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i, Reich was named a BIIF DII First Team pitcher.

Reich will join a Big 12 powerhouse in the Kansas State Cougars, who made it to the semifinals of the 2023 Big 12 championship before falling 6-3 to TCU, which went on to win the finals and eventually enter the College World Series.
