Hilo High hosted a preseason girls basketball tournament, during which four varsity teams played a round robin from Thursday to Saturday.
On Thursday, Honoka‘a High played against Kohala High and Hilo High played against Baldwin High. Kohala defeated Honoka‘a 35-25 and Baldwin defeated Hilo 38-20.
On Friday, Baldwin defeated Kohala 33-23 and Honoka‘a defeated Hilo 43-22.
On Saturday, Baldwin defeated Honoka‘a 37-35 and Kohala defeated Hilo 45-10.
BIIF girls basketball action will come into full swing this week — with matchups such as Parker at Ka‘u, Kealakehe at Waiakea, HPA at Konawaena, KS-Hawai‘i at Kea‘au, Pahoa at Kohala and Kohala at Waiakea.
