Top collegiate golfers to compete on the Big Island at next week’s Amer Ari Intercollegiate
PUAKO – Some of the nation’s top collegiate golfers will gather on the isle’s windward side next week at the 33rd Annual Amer Ari Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Hawai’i at Hilo at the Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club.
The three-round event (Feb. 8-10) tees off each day at 7:30 a.m. on the North Course and features 18 NCAA Division I programs with 33 of the top 100 individually-ranked golfers (via Jan. 31 rankings provided by Scoreboard powered by clippd).

Other schools include No. 31 UCLA, No. 42 Oklahoma State, No. 46 Oregon State, No. 49 San Jose State, No. 77 Pepperdine, No. 86 Stanford, No. 105 UC Davis, No. 140 UH Manoa, No. 163 Pacific, Osaka Gakuin (Japan) and the home team UH-Hilo Vulcans.
Five of the participating schools made it all the way to the final eight in last May’s match-play bracket of the 2023 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship in Arizona. Georgia Tech placed runner-up as North Carolina and Florida State finished in the semifinal round.
Individually, No. 39 Dylan Menante (North Carolina) and No. 97 Brett Roberts (Florida State) finished tied at No. 4 and No. 7, respectively.

The Amer Ari Intercollegiate has brought some of the best golfers in the nation to the west side of the Big Island year-in and year-out since its inception in 1992. From Tiger Woods to Jordan Spieth to Matt Kuchar, the Amer Ari Intercollegiate has hosted a myriad of players through the years who have gone on to professional stardom.
Last year’s event was canceled due to extreme wind conditions.
