Daniel Gomera, 83, of Hilo died Feb. 25. Born in Hamakua, he was a self-employed maintenance worker and U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran awarded the Purple Heart. Celebration of life at a later date. Takako “T” Miura, 89, of Hilo died Jan. 27 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired kindergarten teacher, working most of her career at Chiefess Kapi‘olani Elementary School in Hilo, member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and volunteered for numerous organizations.
