The juniors segment of the 64th annual Haili Volleyball Tournament came to a close, as the top two teams of each of the eight divisions clashed on Wednesday night at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

8U COED
The scrappy youngsters on the 8U division’s two teams — Pulelehua and Haili — put on a show for the night’s first title bout, taking the match to three sets.
Pulelehua prevailed, dominating the second set 25-8 and the third set 15-8 after Haili won the first 25-14.
This was the only 8U game of the tournament.

10U COED
Pi‘opi‘o Bears Ho‘omau won the Coed 10U finals in dominant fashion, sweeping Impact in sets of 25-8 and 25-22.
Ho‘omau closed out the tourney undefeated at 6-0. Impact scrapped its way to the finals, winning three bracket matchups after finishing pool play 0-1-2.

12U GIRLS
Impact swept Malulani in sets of 25-15 and 25-19 to earn the 12U girls title and finish undefeated at 7-0 atop the massive, 16-team division. It was Malulani’s first loss, as the team entered the finale 5-0-1.

12U BOYS
The Tribune-Herald was unable to obtain the score for the finale match between Pilipa‘a and Country Kids before deadline.

14U GIRLS
The second matchup kicking off the night was a neck-and-neck, three-set affair — in which Mau Loa Wahine outlasted Pi‘opi‘o Bears Kupa‘a for a 2-1 win.
Mau Loa Wahine won the first set 25-20 before Kupa‘a bounced back and won the second 26-24. Mau Loa Wahine snatched the division crown by winning the third set 15-11.
Mau Loa Wahine closed out the tourney undefeated, winning seven games only only losing two sets. The title round loss was Kupa‘a’s first of the tournament, as it entered the finals 6-0.

14U BOYS
Pilipa‘a Black and Miloli‘i battled through three sets in the boys 14U finale — as Pilipa‘a Black won two consecutive sets of 25-19 and 15-11 after Miloli‘i claimed the first 25-21.
Pilipa‘a Black finished 5-0 and Miloli‘i closed things out 3-2, both of its losses being to Pilipa‘a Black.

16U GIRLS
After two close sets, Eleu came away with the sweep over Pilipa‘a Na Wahine — 26-24 and 25-18.
Closing out at 6-0, Eleu went 3-0 in pool play, then ripped through the bracket aftering entering in a high seed. Pilipa‘a ended things at 6-1.

18U GIRLS

ADULT TOURNAMENT
The adult portion of the Haili tourney will tip off today, starting with pool play, with the earliest matches starting at 9 a.m.
Bracket play will begin Friday, with the finals slated for morning and early afternoon Saturday at Civic.
Like the youth tournament, each division’s pool play will take place at an assigned location. Women’s AA and Men’s AA will play at Civic, Men’s Masters and Men’s B will play at UHH, Women’s A will play at Hilo Armory and Keaukaha’s Kawananakoa Gym will play host to Women’s B and Men’s A.
With only two teams, there will be no Women’s Masters pool play — and instead the two teams will face off in a single game Saturday morning, like the keiki 8U division.
Sporting 12 teams and three pools, Women’s A is the largest division — followed by Women’s AA with ten teams and two pools.
