Twenty-nine wahine and kane groups from 22 halau competed in this year’s Group Hula Kahiko competition on Friday night during the 61st Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo. The groups are back on stage at the Edith Kanakaole Multi-Purpose Stadium tonight for the Group Hula ‘Auana competition, which will followed by the hula results for 2024.

Today is also the last day of the Merrie Monarch Hawaiian Arts and Craft Fair inside and around Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. The craft fair will be open with over 150 vendors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
