The Hilo Woman’s Club began In January 1921. For 103 years, strong and dedicated women spearheaded various educational, social and civic development projects for the Hilo area: A thrift shop, art events, beautification projects to several public spaces, projects partnered with other civic groups on various community endeavors, and they established a scholarship program for East Hawaii female (and male) high school students which is still in effect to this day.
